JUNKIN, Silas:  Born on 20 Jul 1809 in South Carolina. Silas died in
Pickens County, AL on 5 Feb 1872; he was 62. Possibly buried in Hargrove
Methodist Cemetery.

Additional information:  abt 1831/1832 when Silas was 21, he first married Flora Phillips, daughter of John Phillips & Elizabeth. Born in 1808/1809 in North Carolina. Flora died aft 1855; she was 47.  They had the following children:

 5 iii. Margaret Elizabeth (1835-)
 6 iv. David Asbury (1839-1892)
 7 v. Mary Ann Moriah (1841-1903)
 8 vi. Martha Jane (1843-)
 9 vii. Silas Mason (Mace) (1845-1919)

On 11 Oct 1860 when Silas was 51, he second married Jane White, daughter of Jesse White & Elizabeth Brooks. Born on 2 Apr 1820. Jane died on 31 Aug 1883; she was 63.  1830...Silas Junkin left Shelby Co., AL and took up land out of the Carrollton Land Office.  He is listed in the 1830 Census of Pickens Co 10 # 25, 210001, 010001.  1836...His land was in Township 18/19, Range 13 W  dated  21 March 1836..W 1/2 SW Ouarter Sec. 25 A 80.85/100..warrant # 18928; SE 4 of SE 4 Sec 26...40.06 A..21 Jan 1836...warrant #17886; W2of NW4; NW4 of SW4 Sec 17 120.33 A.,,1Dec 1856...warrant # 26228; NE4 NW4SE4  Sec 18 206.10
