My 'theory' so far on my great-grandmother Susan (Sheppard)BARNES ancestors:
Daniel J.SPEARS(b.abt 1805-1810 SC or Ga) (mentioned in the 1856 Randolph Co,Al newspaper) was married to 
Jane _____ (b.abt 1810 SC or Ga). They had children named:
William R.
James R.
Amanda
Mary
Daniel or Daniel J.
Daniel J.(b.abt 1805-1810 SC or Ga) died around 1847 probably in Randolph Co,Al
His widow Jane ______(b.abt 1810 SC or Ga) married Jeremiah SHEPPARD by 1850. The had children named:
Caroline b.1850
Susan b.bet 1851-1853
Jane ____(b.abt 1810 SC or Ga) died around 1856.
Jeremiah SHEPPARD assumed guardianship of all the SPEARS children mentioned above.
Jeremiah then married Jessie Jane _____(b.abt 1820 Ga) and they had children:
Andrew J. b.1856
Millard Fillmore b.bet 1857-1859
This would make Susan and Millard half sibling(common parent Jeremiah) as Daddy always told us.
All the SPEARS childrened mentioned would be Susan's half-siblings also (common parent Jane ____(b.1810 SC or Ga)
