March 28, 1915, age 64 years and 11 months. He was married to Miss Francis
Armstrong, May 28, 1878. To this union ten children were born, seven
daughters and three sons, two sons preceding him to the better world beyond,
leaving a wife, seven daughters and one son; Mrs. Alvas Harris of Centralia,
OK; Mrs. T. Hutchinson of Berwick (M0); Mrs. Elza Douthitt, Mrs. Ed English,
Mrs Oscar Beaver, Mrs. Gilbert Barbee, Misses Minnie and Otas York, all of

mourn his death. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 40 years, uniting
with the Ritchey Baptist church of which he remained a faithful member and
willing worker until death. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He
was an affectionate husband and loving father. He had been a sufferer for about
a year with kidney and heart trouble. He suffered intense pain the last few
days of his life, but bore it all without a murmur. His sudden death was a shock
to the entire community. His funeral was precahed by Rev. Carlin, of Monett
(MO), March 30, after which his remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows
cemetery of Newtonia (MO) to await the resurrection morn, when we shall all be
gathered to part no more, if we only remain faithful to our blessed Savior.
