This indenture made and entered in to this the 18th day of Oct one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty two Between Joseph
McCoy of the State of Tennessee and County of Van Buren of the first part and James Galiway of State and County of fore Said that of the other part witnesseth the Said Joseph McCoy for and in consideration of seven hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt where of is here by acknowledged both granted bargained and sold and by there presents doth grant sell and convey to the said James Galaway a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres more or less lying in Van Buren County district No 1 waters of Larrel creek beginning on the branch of Cumberland mountain on a chestnut it being the beginning corner of a certain tract of land sold by John E. Clark to Elisha Boulden running thence north 13 & with Said Bouldin's line 54 poles to a black gum John L. McCoys beginning corner thence north 12 E 45 poles to a read bud and Sedans(?) poinnters thence north 45 E 48 poles to a read elm thence north 15 E 45 poles to a hickory then north 23 w 49 poles to a dogwood near a little spring a corner in John L. McCoys North east boundary then North 80 E 72 poles to a dogwood small black walnut and Sugar maple pointers then South 80 E 72 poles to chestnut oak chestnut and white oak pointers then South wardly with the western boundary lines of the James Moor tract with the bluff where Mark Michel now lives one hundred and forty six poles to a chestnut oak it being Milly Moores corner in her north west boundary then South 53 w 40 poles and with Milly Moores line to read elm Milly Moores north west corner then South 66 E with said Milly Moores line 52 poles to a black gum then south 20 E 72 poles to chestnut oak on the bluff of the first bench of the mountain above the cave then westerly with the meanderings of the bluff crossing a hollow 60 poles to an ash 2 hickory pointers then north 80 w 30 poles to a poplar south east of and near the Sally white old peach orchard then north 80 w 32 poles to a chestnut oak near a cave then south 74 w 16 poles to a black oak then north 35 w 32 poles to a hickory then north 86 w 33 poles to the beginning with all and singular the hereditaments and apertances there in to be longing or in any wise appertaining there to the only proper use and like of of the said James Galaway his heirs and assigns for ever a the said Joseph McCoy doth by these presents warrant and for ever defend the write and title of said land from him self heirs and assigns and from all manner of person or persons whatsoever ether in law or Equity to the said James Galaway his heirs and assigns for ever in witness where of the said Joseph McCoy here unto Sets his hand and seal this day and date above written

Joseph McCoy one of the bargainers to the within deed with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged the due execution of the Same and also personally came before me Selyny McCoy wife of the said Joseph McCoy the other bargainer and after being examined by me separate and part from her said husband acknowledged that She assigned the same freely voluntarily of her own free will and accord with out being influenced by her said husband witness my hand at office at Spencer this the 21st day of Oct 1882 A.C.
