Purchase byWilliam McCoy of 5 Acres on Skaggs Creek
George Whillock .
For $100
October 1868

This indenture made on the 30th day of October 1868 between George Whillock & Christiana his wife of the first party and W. R. McCoy of the second party all of the county of Barren State of Ky. For and by consideration of the Sum of one hundred dollars secured to be paid to the first party they have this day sold & conveyed to Said Wm R. McCoy a certain tract of land in the county & state aforesaid on the waters of Skaggs Creek containing five acres bounded as follows. Beginning at an ash on the bluff of School Creek on the lines between the parties running with said line N. 48 E. 116 poles to a black gum thence S & E 7 poles to a stone in a lane S 43 W112 poles to a small poplar & dogwood over the head of a spring N 69 W 7 poles thence to the Beginning with all the appurtenance to have to hold and the first party bind themselves herin assigns & forever to warrent and defend the above granted from uses free from all claims whatever. In testemony whereof they have set their hands & seals the day above written a lein being retained upon the land til the purchase money is paid.

Nuckols clerk of the county court for said county certify that the foregoing deed from George Whillock & Christiana his wife to W R McCoy was the 30th day of Oct 1868 acknowledged before N Wright an acting deputy for me by Said Whillock & wife to be their act and deed Where upon the Same & the certificate have been recorded in my office the proper stamp being attached as required by an act of congress Given under my hand this 26th day of November 1869.
