By 1920 four more of John and Nancy Hatfield McCoy's children have passed away; Ewell in December 1910, Louisa McCoy Grissom in February 1915 just eight months after the passing of her husband, and in 1918 son John L passed in August, and Francis Marion in December. The only children of John and Nancy Hatfield McCoy still living in 1920 are Nancy McCoy Swindell in White County Tennessee, and Nicholas Patterson McCoy in Barren County Kentucky. The grandchildren and great grandchildren of John and Nancy Hatfield McCoy carry on, spreading to ever more parts of the country, known descendants inhabiting eight states by 1920.
