Apparently just prior to 1850 the George Mauk family has relocated from Hawkins County Tennessee to Barren County Kentucky. No motive for the move has yet been ascertained. Some mysteries remain reading the 1850 entry for the family. It is known that daughter Catherine wed a Thomas Richard in December of 1848, and a daughter was born to them in January 1850. Catherine is listed as a Mauk, as a householder in her parent's home, and no child to her is noted.
