(By 1850 the children of David and Rhoda Chandler Deweese were long married and out of the home. Daughter Elizabeth had married Wm Ferguson. Elizabeth died just after the birth of her youngest daughter, Elizabeth, who is seen below residing with her grandparents. Some other of those children still reside with William who had remarried, while still others were placed in the home of a Mr. Ennis. Also residing with her grandparents for reasons still unknown is the eldest child of Hiram and Cynthia Deweese Boyd. Cynthia was the eldest daughter of David and Rhoda)

Bond for marriage of William Ferguson to Elizabeth Deweese
Know all men by these presents that we Wm Ferguson
and David Deweese are held bound unto the Commonwealth
of Kentucky in the sum of fifty pounds current money which
payment will and truly be made and bond surety and
our --- by these presents and dated this 24th day of
August 1831
The conditions of the above obligation is such that if there
is no lawful cause to prevent a marriage entered between
the above bound Wm Ferguson and ELizabeth Deweese for which
a licsence has --- then this obligation to be void ---to
remain in full force and virtue
