Obituary of Eliza Simpson

Mrs. Samuel Simpson passed away at her home in Barney, IA Jan 31, 1915, aged 80 years, 7 Months and 23 days. Eliza Dunaway was born near Glasgow, KY on Jun 8, 1834. She moved to Iowa in 1850 where on Jan 14, 1857 she was married to Samuel Simpson. To this union were born 12 children, 7 sons and 5 daughters. All are living except Noah who died Sep 3, 1902. The husband and father passed away Dec 16, 1908.
The surviving children are Jerome of Diagonal; John of Macksburg; Virgil of Elliott; Jesse of Fullerton NE; Mrs. Bertha Gearhart of Lorimor; Mrs. Hattie White of Earlham; Mrs. Anna Sterline of Pleasantville; Mrs. Mary Wright; Mrs. Bessie Loomis; Charles and Pascal Simpson of Barney. The funeral services were conducted at the Barney Church by Rev Spooner of Lorimor and interment was made to the Barney Cemetery.

Cleo Baker Dies - Lorimor
Cleo Bell Baker, 81, of Lorimor, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 1986, at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset.
She was born July 29, 1905, near Macksburg, the daughter of Thomas J. and Mary (Simpson) Wright. On Oct. 3, 1936, she married Floyd Baker. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1978.
She lived most of her life in Madison county, moving to Lorimor in 1980. She was a homemaker, a member of the Lorimor Church of God, Women's Relief Corps of Macksburg, and Women's Club of Lorimor.
She is survived by a daughter, Alberta and husband, Ed Stajcar of Lonmor; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Lorimor Church of God with Rev. Dave Headley officiating. burial was at the Barney Cemetery, north of Lorimor, with the Watts-Lindsay funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established for the Lorimor Church of God.

Floyd Baker Funeral Last Wednesday
Funeral services were held last Wednesday, April 26, from Macksburg, who died Sunday, April 23, 1978, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born August 9, 1911, in Scranton, Kansas, the son of Rutherford and Susan Rosetta Markley Baker. His marriage to Cleo Bell Wright took place October 3, 1936, in Winterset. He moved to Madison County in 1918 and spent most of his life here as a farmer and construction worker.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Alberta) Stajcar of Lorimor; four grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Baker of Macksburg; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Hazel) Knouf of Norwalk and Mrs. John (Florence) Stifel of Selah, Washington; six half-sisters; and two half-brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one half-brother and two half-sisters.
Officiating at last Wednesday's services was Rev. John H. Ackerman. Burial was made at the Barney Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Heart Fund.

Alberta "Bert" Fay Stajcar, 65, of Lorimor died Aug. 13, 2007, at her home. Memorial services were held Friday, Aug. 17, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs officiating. Burial was at Barney Cemetery.
Bert Stajcar was born Dec. 13, 1941, in Winterset to Floyd and Cleo Bell (Wright) Baker and was educated in the Peru and Winterset school districts. Her marriage to Edward Phillip Stajcar Sr. took place July 7, 1958, in Afton. A Lorimor resident for most of her life, Bert worked at Murray Products, Mother Load in Lorimor, Gold Buffet in Winterset, and Heat Tech in Afton, from which she retired. She also was a bartender and a Madisonian correspondent.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Edward, of Lorimor; three sons, Phil Stajcar of Ralston, Okla., Charles Stajcar of Lorimor, and John William Stajcar of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Susie Boyd of Lorimor; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the family.
