Obituary of Mary Dunaway
From research of Christine McCormick, Germantown, MD
Mary Sykes Dunaway, born Nov 17, 1850 near Bedford, IN; d. May 14, 1923 at age 72, 5 months, 23 days. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1852 and lived nearly al her life near Monroe, with the exception of 5 years in Kansas. She married J.D. Dunaway Sep 1864. They had 11 children; 9 of which survive: James C.; Martha A. Sheeler; Myrtle M. Nolan of Monroe; Lydia E. Oswald; Ettie R. Oswald of Prairie City; and Lucy I Clark of Mitchellville. Grandsons Floyd and Guy Dunaway of Baxter Springs KS. Funeral in Monroe; Burial in Monroe Cemetery
