John D. Dunaway of Jasper Co, State of Iowa, being of sound and disposing mind, do make this, my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me. First, I give and bequesth all of my real estate and personal property to my beloved wife, Mary S Dunaway for her to use during her natural life. I make her this bequest on condition that my said wife will never give any of said property to our son John Q. Dunaway. At the death of my said wife, I direct that my two sons, James C and David A Dunaway, and all my six daughters, Lydia E; Martha A; Hattie; Etta B; Lucy and Mary Dunaway receive all of my estate both real and personal property, share and share alike. I hereby appoint my wife and son James C Dunaway, my executors for this my last will and testament without bond, witness my hand Dec 20, 1889 in presence of Hany Perrin and M W Batemen.

Mary Sykes Dunaway, born Nov 17, 1850 near Bedford, IN; d. May 14, 1923 at age 72, 5 months, 23 days. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1852 and lived nearly al her life near Monroe, with the exception of 5 years in Kansas. She married J.D. Dunaway Sep 1864. They had 11 children; 9 of which survive: James C.; martha A. Sheeler; Myrtle M. Nolan of Monroe; Lydia E. Oswald; Ettie R. Oswald of Prairie City; and Lucy I Clark of Mitchellville. Grandsons Floyd and Guy Dunaway of Baxter Springs KS. Funeral in Monroe; Burial in Monroe Cemetery
