by a cousin, no address. Name Cothran old spelling from Scotland.
Cochrane sometimes without the e. We think this bible came over
with family from Scotland around 1762 as this is the birth date
of first known ancestor. He is listed 1st.

of Ovid Dunlap Cothran [my Grandfather] due to his listed Father and
Mother who were George Washington Lafayette Cothrum and Harriet
McColmon. We have most of the family tree on down.
Family history says:
#1. We were black Irish rebels ran out of Ireland, but family name came from Scotland.
#2. During the Civil War (not sure if American or European) 2 brothers went to war, one was married, one was single. The single man came home while the married had died. The single man married his brothers widow and changed the spelling of the name at his wife's request for a new name.] Gail.
