William Thomas Ferguson, a farmer, was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He was 82 years old and born on Nov. 21, 1858. He was a son of Robert (born in Scotland 1832) and Zilpha (born in Ireland) Ferguson. He married Isabelle 'Belle' Birtch in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Born to this union was one daughter, Angie M. (Ferguson) Coonley. On June 14, 1886, the family moved to Grundy County, Missouri due to his wife's health. Following the death of his wife, Mr. Ferguson was married to Phoebe Racheal McCoy on May 11, 1889 at Galt, MO. Phoebe was born in Laclede, MO on December 22, 1870 to William and Hannah (Leslie) McCoy. Her family moved to Grundy County when Phoebe was a small child. William and Phoebe were the parents of 10 children, with one dying in infancy: Floy, Clara E., Augusta Frances, Robert, Zilpha, Roy E., Myrtle, Opal, Truman and the infant. William and Phoebe lived on the farm south of Edinburg for 48 years. Phoebe passed away at her home south of Edinburg on July 9, 1944. They are both buried at the Edinburg IOOF Cemetery.
