Richard G. Tate, died June 30 at a hospital in London, Ontario, Canada, where he had been a patient for a week. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brothers Funeral Home at Linneus, MO., Rev. Don McReynolds of Linneus was the officiating minister. Music played was "Going Down In The Valley," "Beyond The Sunset," and "Asleep in Jesus." Pallbearers were Wallace Turner, Noel Jones, Biib Butterfield, Claud Powell, Vern Turner and Mark Ailer. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Linneus, MO. Mr. Tate was born Nov. 28, 1891, a son of David and Etta May Lewis Tate. He had spent most of his life in Sullivan and Linn Counties. On Dec. 24, 1912 he was married to Bertha May Morris. They were the parents of thirteen children, eleven of whom survive. Survivors include five sons, and six daughters. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and one brother, Charles Tate, of Browning. Mr. Tate had been staying with a son at Spickard, MO.
