Osceola Sentinel-Obituary 1960

John Milton Page, son of William and Rachel Page, seventh of a family of 14 children, was born in Hermon, Illinois, November 23, 1857. He died at the home of Eunice Stickler in Osceola, Iowa on March 1, 1960 at the age of 102 years, 3 months and 4 days. He came to Clarke County in 1888 and engaged in farming. On February 23, 1887, he was married to Ida Bell Ogden and to their union were born 3 children. Mr. Page was Osceola's oldest resident at the time of his death. He had the unusual distinction of living more than a century. One of the experiences of his early life that he always remembered was that of seeing Abraham Lincoln in Illinois. Mr. Page was a long time member of Osceola Christian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Emma Robbins and her husband Arlie; a son Emary page of Des Moines and wife Flossie; and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lloyd Page. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, who died in 1943, his parents, and a son Lloyd, who died in 1944, and by 13 brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held from the Christian Church in Osceola, Rev. Warren Hile officiating. Burial was in the Osceola Cemetery.
