Robert BARR, Junior was born in County Londonderry, Ireland on Aug. 1, 1748 and died on Dec. 23, 1834 near McAlevys Fort, Barre Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania and is buried in "The Old Indian Cemetery."
Robert and his brother, David, emigrated from Ireland to the United States, probably at the same time as their uncle Samuel Wills, who came in about 1770. Robert served a tour of duty in the Pennsylvania Militia. Robert would have been 22 years of age when he came from Ireland in 1770. By the time his father, mother and other family members came to Pennsylvania in 1790, Robert was already established in his life in the New World, married and with 5 of his 6 children already born. He settled in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, not far from Reedsville, in the Kishacoquillas Valley, a beautiful and rich farming area.
Robert married Christian REED in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in about 1778.
