Anna Page Humphrey passed away at her home Sunday morning, Feb. 26th at 6:30 AM following a long illness of 5 years duration. The immediate cause of death was a stroke that she was afflicted with Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were held from the residence, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W.P. Drew in charge. Anna Elizabeth Page was born in Wilmington, Ohio April 12, 1849. When she was 3 years of age her parents moved to Illinois, locating in Hermon. Her life until her marriage was spent in Hermon. On Sept. 7, 1871 she was married to Squire Harvey Humphrey. The couple lived various places during their first 30 years of married life, but the last 20 years were spent at Galesburg. Seven children were born to them. Two of the children, Jennie and C.A. Humphrey are deceased. Surviving are the husband and 5 children: Mary Parr and William Humphrey of Kewannee; Harvey Humphrey and Emma Guenther of Galesburg; and Luella Leeland of Davenport, Iowa; 4 brothers, John and Stephen of Iowa; William of Nebraska; James of Missouri; 5 sisters, Mary, Rose and Stella of Iowa; Sarah of Avon, Illinois and Margaret of Nebraska. Mrs. Humphrey was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Burial was in the Linwood Cemetery.
