This indenture dated 20 Jul 1798 between William Rawle of the
city of Philadelphia, Esquire and Sarah his wife of the first
part, Beulah Burge, widow of Samuel Burge late of the city
of Philadelphia, gentleman, dec'd, of the second part,
and Adley Brown of ___ township Chester Co., PA, yeoman of
the third part.
Whereas in and by a certain indenture bearing date 9 Apr 1777
made between Reese Evans of Vincent twp and Daniel Evans
of Uwchlan twp in Chester Co., yeoman of one part and said
Samuel Burge of the other part, in consideration therein mentions...
tract of land situated in Whiteland twp beginning at a
marked Black Oak thence by.. land late of Richard Anderson then
in tenure of David Williams and Sarah his wife, thence..
by land late of William Smith.. to a post at corner of George
Garrets land thence by same.. in line of John Holland's land
.. to beginning, containing 127.25 acres, recorded in Book W
page 8. Samuel Burge being so seised of the aforesaid premises
died intestate whereupon the same became vested in his 2 daughters
the said Sarah Rawle and Elizabeth Burge by deed poll.. bearing
date 3 Mar 1788. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said
William Rawle and Sarah his wife.. in consideration of 400 pounds
lawful money of USA paid by Adley Brown.. said Beulah Burge in
consideration of 5 shillings released her claim.
