Kelton Parish Church Records
The parish of Kelton is bounded on the north by the parish of Crossmichael, on the east by Buittle, on the south by Rerrick and Kirkcudbright, and on the west by the river Dee, which separates it from Balmaghie and Tongland. Castle Douglas is the parishes main town, whilst there are three churchyards; Kelton, Gelston and Kirkcormack. There are baptismal and marriage records dating from 1717, with a gap in the marriages records between 1803 and 1839. The burial records have not been examined.
