Protestant Dissenter’s Lists of 1775
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland holds copies of Groves’s transcripts names of Protestant Dissenters (Presbyterians) listed in Petitions submitted to the Irish Parliament in October & November 1775. These cover 19 parishes and towns in Co. Antrim, 13 in Co. Down, 7 in Co. Tyrone including Omagh, Dungannon and Strabane. There are also lists for Londonderry City and the towns of Coleraine and Armagh. For Co. Antrim, only 3 parishes contain “M” names, whilst Co. Down only contains 2 parishes; there are none listed in Co. Armagh, Co. Londonderry or Co. Tyrone. A transcript copy of the Protest Dissenters list is available at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, reference T.808/15307.
