DUBLIN STREET DIRECTORIES


The earliest Commercial Directories of Dublin date from 1751 with Wilsonís Alphabetical List of Names & Places of Abode of the Merchants and Traders of the City of Dublin. A similar list was published as a supplement to Gentlemanís & Citizenís Almanac in 1752 and 1753. From 1755 onwards there is annual list published merchant and traders in the Gentlemanís & Citizenís Almanac, which became Wilsonís Directory, as part of the Treble Almanac in 1787.
