SOUGH FARM, STANLEY

(Photos and information kindly supplied by Paul Slater)

Sough Farm was a working farm in Stanley for many years. In the latter part of the 19th century it was owned by the Grundy family. By the 1970's the farm had become derelict, and the new owner obtained permission to pull down the old farmhouse and build a new bungalow, which he named "Quarry Farm." The other farm buildings are still standing.

Quarry/Sough Farm is situated on the left of the road leading to Stanley Hill, just past the Bridge Inn.
