All Saints Church

The United Methodist Church at Stanley Common - built in 1903, in the process of being demolished as the photographs above and below were being taken. There were once three Methodist Chapels in Stanley Common, but the Primitive and Wesleyan Methodist churches were demolished long ago. The congregation of this church has now joined with All Saints as a united church.

George Stafford's butcher's shop has been a feature of Stanley Common for many decades. As the notice declares, he is particularly famous for his black puddings!

The Brickyard at Stanley Common - known as "Top Brickyard" in the 1901 census to distinguish it from the Brickyard at Stanley. The white plaque on the house to the left of the Brickyard reads "Providence Place" - another name familiar from the censuses.
