Additional Information : The registers of Wirksworth Baptist Church are very useful as they give the names of the mother's parents. This has enabled me to identify the baptismal record of Martha NALL in the Wirksworth PR's as the correct one. It also gives me reason to believe that the death record for Martha CLAY is the correct one (because the age fits, and she must have died between the birth of her youngest son in 1830 and her husband's remarriage in 1835), although the death record does not state her relationship to James Barton CLAY.
