Additional Information : Edward Fletcher died in 1854 but the 1861 census states that the youngest child, Theresa, was Martha's daughter. Clearly Edward could not have been Theresa's father - it is not clear whether Martha conceived Theresa by another man, or possibly Theresa was an illegitimate child of Elizabeth, Mary or Sarah Fletcher and was brought up by Martha. Support for the second possibility comes from the 1891 and 1901 census, where George Fletcher is living with Theresa (referred to as "Thirza"). The 1891 census says that George is her brother, but the 1901 says that he is her uncle.
