AARON AND MARTHA HARTSHORN

On the left is a picture of Aaron Hartshorn and his wife
Martha (Kay). They both come from Stanley originally and then moved to
West Hallam.
Aaron was born on 6 November 1871 and died on February 2nd
1949, between 4.30am and 7.45am in bed in his sleep aged 77. Martha was
born in 1873 and died September 6th 1951.
Aaron lived in Stanley with his brother John and sister in
law Annie on Morley Lane, Martha moved to the village with her family and
were present on the 1901 census
Martha and Aaron were married on November 25th 1902 at Stapleford Chapel when Aaron was 31 and Martha 30, they went on to have 4
children, a girl born August 22nd 1905 who died at birth, Ida born 1
January 1907 at 2am, Ralph born 8 January 1908 who lived for 8 and a half
hours and George (my grandad) born 1 June 1910.
George married Irene Bostock in 1934 (4 children) and Ida eventually
married her cousin Wilfred (John and Annies son) but had no children
