According to the 1850 census, Cynthia was born in Missouri. A 1841 deed in Hopkins Co., Kentucky places her parents in Ripley County, Missouri at this time. While just a young girl, she moved with her parents, Jesse R. Vinson and Lizzie Drew to the Tishomingo County, Mississippi area.

Martin Family
When Cynthia married into the Martin family, she wasn't alone. She had three sisters who married brothers of Thomas Martin. Thomas Martin was born between 1843-1845 in Tishomingo County, Mississipi. His death date is unknown, but we do know that he died after February 14, 1920. At this time, he was living with his son, Benjamin 'Ben' A. Martin.Thomas was the son of Henry Martin who was born about 1812 in North Carolina and his wife, Fanie Harp, who was born about 1814 in North Carolina. Henry Martin was the son of Ambrose Martin and Rebecca Redding who married November 6, 1809 Wilkes County, North Carolina.

Discover of his GraveBy Wayne Martin (February 2002) The name Martin is on it and the dates , born Oct. 26 1868 , died Oct.5, 1873. I called Glenda and she found a census book 1870 and the child was listed as one yr.. old, name James Thomas Martin , the son of Thomas and Cynthia (Vinson) Martin.
We can not see how we did not find it last year. some of the marker has been broken off and we want to go back and look some more for other stones.
