George Jr., known as Buddy, was the baby of the family. Thank goodness he was too young to fight in the civil war. Tradition says at the age of 15, when some of his siblings started off to Texas, they decided to bring him with them - against his father's wishes. His mother was deceased at this time and his father had remarried.

George married first Sarah Elizabeth 'Sallie' Hilton December 21, 1880 Caldwell, Burleson Co., Texas. She was born October 7, 1860 Alabama and died January 19, 1888 Kyles, Hayes Co., Texas. She was the mother of his children. George married second Lee Nora McCloud June 2, 1893 Burleson Co., Texas.
