Liter and Biz were sons of Cynthia Edna (Jobe) Cook and grandchildren of Caleb. Edwin Turner Standlee was husband of Ina (Jobe) and Caleb's son-in-law.

Caleb died on a Sunday morning from a gunshot wound. In his older years, he wore a fur hat, like the photos above, and he was mistaken as a wolf. My father was almost 7 at the time and used to tell us about the day it happened.

Note that the death certificate lists his mother as Mary McIntyre. This is NOT CORRECT. His mother was Susan Ann McIntire and she died when Caleb was about 5 years old. Caleb's father, Jesse Jobe, died about the same time in 1852. For a while, Caleb lived with his Grandpa, Eli B. Jobe, who died when Caleb was 13-14 years old. Then Caleb went to live with his Uncle Elijah Jobe who was married to Mary M. Parrack, d/o John Parrack and Lourana Cypret. About 1875-1876, Caleb and his family migrated to Collin Co., Texas where they appear on the 1880 Census. Elijah and his family also came to Texas at this time. Mary, Elijah's wife, died shortly after arrival on August 20, 1876 in Hanna Valley, Brown Co., Texas (today Mills County, Texas). By 1880 Elijah and his children are in Cooke Co., Texas. It is here that Elijah died about March 1880.
