"p. 6 of the Leath Book
"Caleb Jobe's will probated in June 1750, names his wife Barbara and four children, Samuel, Jacob, Nathan and Elizabeth Jobe. The three Jobe sons went to present-day Tennessee in the 1780's and are found in Sullivan Co.,, Tennessee, records at an early date. We have no evidence of what happened to the daughter Elizabeth who appears to be the youngest of the Jobe children so was probably born ca. 1748. We speculate that she may be the same as the Elizabeth, b ca 1748, who married Josiah Leath, Ephraim's nephew, whose land adjoined Ephraim's."*near bottom of p. 7 of Leath book
"Josiah Leath's will was proved 3 Nov 1789 (Minutes of the Court of Common Pleas, Greene Co., Tenn, Book 1783 -95. p. 136). Jeremiah Matthews (also Mathes) was appointed guardian of Josiah's son Josiah (Ibid, p. 208). Josiah's widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Leath, had md. (2) 9 Oct 1788, Greene Co., NC (now Tenn.), to Jeremiah Mathes (originally Matthews), the son of Alexander and Grizzie Mathews of Shenandoah Co., VA Jeremiah was a brother to Alexander Mathes, Jr., who married Josiah Leath's younger sister Ann Leath.
