    Flipping Album

  1. William Shepherd Jobe Family - We got some Civil War Veterans photos into the library and William was one that we got, so took a pic of it (is in a glass case) and am attaching. Do not know what year it was taken, but was probably just before he died (abt 1925-1927). Submitted by Freida Wells

  2. William Shepherd Jobe Family, 1908 - Taken in Sedan Chautauqua Co KS. by Avery. L-R Mabelle Jobe wife of Charles Elmer Jobe, James E. Stafford, husband of Allie E. (Jobe) Stafford, Allie E. (Jobe) Stafford- daughter of Wm and Malinda Jobe, Elizabeth Arminta Jobe, wife of Wm Harrison Jobe. Front row: L-R Charles Elmer Jobe son of Wm Shepherd and Malinda Jobe, William Shepherd Jobe, Charles Louis Jobe son of Wm and Elizabeth Jobe, Malinda Iowa (Bunch) Jobe wife of Wm Shepherd Jobe, William Harrison Jobe son of Wm Shepherd and Malinda Jobe. There is an interesting story behind this photo, it was found in an antique store in Springfield, MO by Marilyn Siebert. She wrote to Ann Brown who in turn sent the letter to Freida Wells who contacted Marilyn. Freida purchased this one and one like it and another photo you will see next to go back to Sedan, Chautauqua Co., KS to the Historical and Genealogy Society library. It is nice to have people like Marilyn who rescues photos from places like this. It is not known how it ended up there. She gave $5 for all three because the owner of the shop thought she would never find anyone related to them! Submitted by Freida Wells
