Caleb Jobe, my great grandfather, was born September 4, 1847 in Jobe Twp, Oregon Co., Missouri to Jesse Jobe and Susan Ann McIntire. When he was about 5, due to the death of both parents, Caleb went to live with his Uncle Elijah Jobe who was married to Mary Parrack. Caleb married Martha Emily Brewer on December 17, 1868 in Oregon Co., MO. She was the d/o John R. Brewer and Cynthia Hall. In the mid 1870's, Caleb, along with Uncle Elijah and some of his children migrated to Texas.
