    This is to Cirtufye that Ann McKay wife of Jobe McKay of the County of Frederick and State of Virginia have Concented to the proposed Marriage Betwene David Ogilvie and My Daughter Hannah and I Doe further cirtufye that My husband previous to his Departure to Caintucky give his Concente to the intended marriage and this is to authorise the said ogilvie on our part to go to the County office and obtain Licence for the abov purpus & Given from under my hand this 5th day of August 1798.

    This day personally appeared before me Joseph Irwin of the said County and made oath on the Holy evangelists that he saw the within subscriber Ann McKay duly acknowledge the signature of her name to the within Certificate

    This deponent further saith that the within named Hannah the Daughter of the said Ann is as this deponent Verily believes upwards of twenty one years of age.

    Know all men by these presents that we David Ogilvie and Joseph Irwin are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency James Wood Esq. Governor of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said governor or his successors, we bind ourselves, and heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 6th day of August A.D. 1798

    THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a MARRIAGE shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound David and Hannah McKay ------------------now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void and of no effect - otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
