Not much is known of Sophia's early life. We believe that she was born about 1799 Wilkes Co., Georgia. According to the Campbell book, Sophia died just 3 months after her marriage to Charter Champbell. If this is correct, then it is doubtful that she and Charter had any children of their own.Presently, research is indicating that Charter did have a previous marriage before Sophia. Would anyone, know who he was married to and when? Please write me at Ann (Jobe) Brown. It is known that Charter did marry after Sophia. He was a prosperous and well-respected man in Morgan Co., Georgia. Occupation was a hotel proprietor in Madison, Morgan Co., Georgia. Charter does appear on the 1820 Morgan Co., Georgia Census.
