We don't know very much about Richard G. Foster. Though no records have been discovered to indicate that Richard married or had any heirs, there is no proof that one did not exist.. Background Information
I'm inclined to believe that Richard G. was the oldest son
- Named first in the slave distribution and the children are usually named in order in this type of document
- Took over as census enumerator after his father's death.and records show where he received payment in 1810
- Administrator for his brother-in-law's estate instead of one of his brothers.
George Dabney Willis, son of George Willis and Susannah Baker, had married Catherine 'Kitty' Foster (sister to Richard G. Foster) on January 4, 1811 Wilkes Co., Georgia. Since Richard was made administrator of George's estate in 1815.The above leads me to believe that Richard was 21 by the 1810 census - making him born between late 1785 and late 1788.
I also have a feeling that he was an educated man.
George Ruddle, administrator of Richard's estate, had married Richard's sister, Frances 'Fanny' Foster, on May 8, 1816 Wilkes Co., Georgia.
