Childhood
Benjamin Franklin 'Ben' Boon was born July 24, 1854 somewhere in Texas. By 1860, at the age of 6, he was living in Bowie Co., Texas with his parents were they were farmers - raising cotton. Ben's father died when he was about 9 years old and as a child he did move around quite a bit. His childhood must have been quite a hardship.

Mary Ella Campbell, Ben's wife, was born May 5, 1862 somewhere in Missouri. She was the daughter of James and Nancy J. Campbell. Her father was born in Missouri and her mother was born in North Carolina.
