Microfilm Canadian Institute for Historical Microproductions (CIHM)(2nd floor)

                     The New Brunswick (UNB) CIHM Database Gateway searches the UNB Library holdings of the Early Canadiana Research Collection of microfiche published by the Canadian Institute for Historical Microproductions (CIHM). This is an experimental Z39.50 gateway service accessing the UNICORN server at UNB. The unique CIHM microfiche number in each record can be used to retrieve the microfiche in the University of Saskatchewan Libraries collection located in microfiche filing cabinets in the Maps and Microforms Room on the Second Floor of the Main Library. The CIHM Early Canadiana Collection of microfiche contains reproductions of more than sixty-five thousand titles of early Canadiana monographs and periodicals. These are primarily Canadian imprints.   Mode of access: World Wide Web via the Internet

Use index to find microfilm # required, fill out sheet with microfilm #’s required and give to assistants at the Reference Desk. Film will be retrieved and brought to the small island near the microfilm readers. Now do your searching. Twenty-five cents/page for hardcopy.

Open 3rd Saturday of Month (check schedule on internet) Run by volunteers so check when it is open. This Library houses material for several different groups, AGS, Germans from Russia, etc.

LDS FHC Edmonton, medium size, medium sized library (open weekends).

LDS FHC Calgary, 2021-17th Ave. S.W., top quality, very large library.

Calgary LDS FHC has the Index for the Hamburg Ship Lists (Direct and Indirect).

Many different microfilms are on permanent loan to this library. Very good source of material if you go to Calgary.
