19 March 1823 - His will was proved in the Principal Registry of the Lord Bishop of Exeter. His trustees were Robert Heard, a yeoman from Bradford, and Philip Venton, a yeoman from Cookbury. He made a bequest to his wife Mary of £10 per year for the rest of her life from his estates of Lopthornes and Bason Close, plus their bed . He left his leasehold estate in Bradford to his brother Stephen. He left his leasehold estate of Lopthornes to Stephen son of his brother Stephen. He left his leasehold estate of Bason Close to Matthew son of his brother Stephen. He left his freehiold estate called Highstead to Thomas son of his brother Stephen. He left other bequests to various children of his siblings (see will).

2 April 1789 - She married John Venton in the parish church at St Teath, Cornwall (info from Peter Heal 30/6/04).
19 March 1823 - She received a bequest of £10 per year and their bed in the will of her late husband John (see JV’s will).

10 January 1853 - He was a yeoman aged 82 when he died in Cookbury of natural decay (death certificate).
12 January 1853 - John Spear of Cookbury, who had been present at his death, advised the registrar (death certificate).
