WILLIAM SHOBROOKE (son of Joseph and Maria (Mary) Shobrooke)
1 April 1724 - He was baptised at North Lew (see parish register).
25 May 1760 - He was a husbandman when he married Peternell Stonman by banns at Brushford. He made his mark in the register (see entry no. 4 in the parish register).
31 March 1761 - Their daughter Mary was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
15 July 1761 - They were from Brushford when their daughter Mary was buried at Coldridge parish church (see parish register).
20 June 1762 - Their son William was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
5 February 1764 – Their son Thomas was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
5 July 1768 - Their daughter Susanna was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
17 December 1770 - Their daughter Ann was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
18 May 1773 - Their son Joseph was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
28 November 1775 - Their son James was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
28 August 1781 - Their daughter Elizabeth was baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
27 October 1788 - Their twin children Richard and Charity were baptised in the parish church at Brushford (see parish register).
He was a blacksmith at Brushford.
7 April 1809 - He was buried aged 84 at Coldridge parish church (see parish register).
26 August 1809 - He was a deceased yeoman from Brushford when probate was granted to his will valued at under £300 in the Court of the Archdeaconry of Barnstaple. William and James Shobbrook (his sons) were the executors. He left £20 to his daughter Charity and £100 to his son Richard (i.e. £50 within one year and £50 within four years of the testators decease). The residue was to be equally divided between William and James (see register of wills).

26 August 1809 - He was a joint executor, along with his brother James, of the will of his father William that was proved in the Court of the Archdeaconry of Barnstaple. The value was under £300. He shared the balance of the estate with James after the deduction of £20 left to his sister Charity and £100 to his brother Richard (see register of wills).
6 May 1837 - He made his last will and testament (see copy).
28 January 1839 - He was a yeoman when he died at Chawleigh.
He was buried at Coldridge (see the photograph of his grave).

2 March 1840 - John Shobbrook, who had been present at his death, advised the registrar (death certificate).
14 March 1840 - His will was proved in the Archdeacon's Court of Barnstaple. He left bequests to his wife Alice and his ten children, Mary Ann, William, Alice Rowe, Paternal Plumber, James, John, Ann Luxton, Susanna Manning and Elizabeth (see probate records).

ALICE SHOBBROOK (NÉE MARE) (daughter of John and Mary Mare)
24 March 1766 - She was baptised in Coldridge parish church (IGI).
30 January 1788 - She was from Coldridge when she married Thomas Shobbrook in Coldridge parish church. She signed her name in the register (see parish register).
14 March 1840 - She appeared, along with her son Thomas, in the Archdeacon's Court of Barnstaple as an executor of her late husbands will. She signed her name (see probate records).
6 June 1841 - Aged 75, she was living in Burrington with Elizabeth Shobbrook aged 25 and James Shobbrook aged 40 (see 1841 census).
9 November 1847 - She died, aged 82, of old age, in Burrington (death certificate).
12 November 1847 - Ann Turner, who had been present at her death, advised the registrar (death certificate).
13 November 1847 - She was aged 82 and from the village when she was buried at Burrington parish church (see parish register).

2 March 1839 - She was the widow of Richard Spear, a farmer, when she died aged 70 at Potsford, Lezant, Cornwall, of inflammation of the bowels (death certificate).
4 March 1839 - Edward Symons, who had been in attendance at her death, notified the registrar (death certificate).
6 March 1839 - She was from Little Comfort when she was buried aged 70 at Lezant parish church (see parish register) in the same grave as her husband Richard (headstone transcription by Cornwall FHS from Sheila Howard 5/8/05).

30 December 1859 - W C P Shobbrook of Bondleigh Town Farm, Bondleigh, who had been present at his death, advised the registrar (death certificate).
5 April 1860 - Probate was granted to his will at the District Registry at Exeter in favour of his executor (his nephew) William Shobbrook, a yeoman from Bondleigh. His estate was value at under £100 (see probate).

27 October 1778 - He was baptised in the parish church at Brushford along with his twin sister Charity (see parish register).
2 February 1804 - He signed his name when he was a witness at the wedding of his sister Susanna and Richard Spear in the parish church at Lapford (see parish register).
26 August 1809 - The will of his father William was proved in the Court of the Archdeaconry of Barnstaple. He was left £100 of which £50 was to be paid within one year of his father's decease and the balance within four years (see register of wills).
14 August 1822 - he was a yeoman when he obtained a licence to marry Rachel Hooper of Chawleigh (see copy). He also signed a marriage bond in the value of £200 (see copy).
25 August 1822 - He was from Chawleigh when he married Rachel Hooper in the parish church at Chawleigh by licence. He signed his name in the register (see parish register).
15 April 1823 - He was a farmer from Tiddlecot in Chawleigh when their son William Cornelius Paddon was baptised in Chawleigh parish church (info from Mike Michelmore 1/3/10).
