In the name of God, Amen. This twenty fourth day of January, in the Tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Ann by the Grace of God, of Great Brittain, France and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the faith & Anno Dom 1711. I Sarah Pitt of Brokenborough, in the County of Wilts, Spinster, being weak of body but of perfect disposing minde and memory, Thanks be to Almighty God, And calling to minde the uncertain Estate of this transitory Life and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please God to call, do make and declare this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following:
First being penitent and sorry for my sins most humbly desiring foregivness for the same, I commend my soul unto Almighty God, who gave it to me, in whom, and by whose Merits I trust to be saved, and to have Remission of all my sins, and to inherit the Kingdom of heaven, and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buried at the discretion of my Executor and Executrix hereafter mentioned. And for the settling my Temporal Estate and such Goods and Chattels and Debts, as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I do order give and dispose the same in Manner and form following: (That is to say)
Imprimis I give and bequeath Unto my Sister Elizabeth Eaket one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah Baily wife of John Baily one shilling. Item I give & bequeath unto my Cosin Craset Bidle one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto my sister in law Lidia Pitt one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Joseph Pitt one shilling. Item I give and bequeath to my Cosin Henry Pitt one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Elizabeth Croom one shilling.
Item I give & bequeath unto my Cosin Lidia Pitt one shilling.
Item I give & bequeath unto my Cosin Mary Canter one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Samuel Pitt one shilling.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Sarah Davis the house that I now live in (and all the Appurtenances there unto belonging) for the and during the term and Remainder of My Lease which is yet to come and unexpired. Item I give and bequeath to the aforesaid Sarah Davis all my household goods within the said house.
ItemI give and bequeath unto my Cosin Simon Pitt the Leasehold Estate called Backridge Mead and Hill with the appurtenances thereunto belonging all the remainder of the term of my lease yet to come & unexpired upon condition that he the said Simon Pitt shall Pay unto his brother John Pitt or his executors upon the twenty fifth day of March or the twenty ninth day of September which shall next happen after my decease the sum of five pounds at his own dwelling house in Brokenborough and ten Pounds more to the said john Pitt within one year after the first payment at the place aforesaid and ten pounds more within one year after the second payment at the place aforesaid to him the said John Pitt or his executors or Administrators, and I do hereby nominate and Appoint Simon Pitt and Sarah Davis whole and sole joint Executor & Executrix of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make Void all other wills by me hereof made declaring this to be my last will & Testament
