***8/14/08 I've received some excellent new additions for several parts of our site. First, I have added several new pictures to the Adkisson gallery section. I have also added a Garner newsclip to the News Clippings section. New photos have been added to the Virtual Cemetery. All of these additions are courtesy of Dorothy Ann Wimmer. For those of you interested in the Adkisson lineage that goes back to through the Babbitt's to the Harrod's, Sam Harrod has made a very interesting contribution of true stories written by his Grandfather and Civil War letters that were passed down to him. Do not miss these! Even if you are not from that lineage, these are very entertaining to read and give us a rare glimpse into the past.

***7/07/08 Another exciting addition has made its way to our website thanks to Sam Harrod who, obviously, is a direct Harrod descendant. Sam has made a huge contribution of photographs that will be of interest to anyone whose lines trace back through the Babbitts and the Harrods. His collection consists of sets of complete family branches. This collection has remained in his family for over 100 years and has been passed down to him. The pictures are in excellent condition and not only are there portraits but there are scenes from life that reveal a wonderful account of our ancestors history. You can locate these pictures in the Virtual Cemetery, the Adkisson Gallery and in the Job and Stephen Babbitt pages and the Harrod pages.

***6/25/08 So much has happened since the last time I posted updates for the site. I attended the 2008 Family Reunion and met my Grand Aunt Dorothy Ann in person. It was the highlight of my visit, she is a lovely person that I feel so fortunate to have met. She took me all around and showed me places my ancestors lived, places they are buried, and the towns they made their lives in. These were places I had never seen before and may never see again. Dorothy Ann surprised me by entrusting me with her mother Inez's collection of family pictures from decades past. I feel honored that she chose to give these to me and I will treasure them until the time comes that I will pass them down. My prayer is that I too, will know who to give them to that will cherish them as much as they have been cherished and carefully protected all of these years. I pray that will be shown to me and I believe that it will.
I have created a couple of new areas in the past few weeks so that I can share the pictures with each of you. The pictures are in the Gallery section and you may view them by clicking on "Inez's Trunk Collection". You may also wish to visit a new section in the Gallery called Our Small Nebraska Towns which is a pictorial journal of some of the places that Dorothy Ann showed me. And, one more area in the Gallery that is new is the 2008 Reunion pictures. In addition to all of that you should visit the Virtual Cemetery to view the new gravesites that I've posted. Dorothy Ann took me around to all of these places.
There is also a new newsclipping mentioning Elizabeth Harper and James Adkisson that is fun and interesting. You can view that by going to the News Clips section. Well, I think that is about all for now but I will be working on adding family information to the various groups. Remember that you can send me anything and I will post it!

***3/12/08 It's been a long time for updates but I am pleased to share more pictures that have been so graciously donated to our site. Thank you's go out to Dorothy Ann Adkisson-Wimmer and Judy Adkisson for pictures and corrections that have been made.
In addition to the pictures, I have also been informed of an Adkisson DNA project. You should contact Judy Adkisson for more information. You can get her email by viewing the guestbook.
The 2008 Garner-Adkisson-Valentine-Reunion will be held on Saturday, June 14 in McCool Junction Nebraska. RSVP's should be sent to PO Box 186 McCool Junction, NE 68401. The coordinators request that you RSVP by May 31 by mail or call before June 7. They would like you to include your name and the number of guests that will be eating the meal. The cost for the meal is $7.50. If you need a hotel in the area contact me for the list. For the RSVP phone number you may contact me. They also ask that even if you can not come to the reunion that you send some information about your family--what branch on the family tree are you on new additions to add to the family tree, any change of addresses of your family members, deaths, marriages, etc. So help them out with this or you can forward the information to me via email and I will see that they get it. As always, on this site there will be no information published on living individuals and permission to use a living individuals name for a credit will be asked for in advance. Thanks everyone!

***5/31/07 Please visit the Gallery to view the latest additions to our collection. These were contributed by Tim and Cynthia Trax. Thank you for sharing them and let's keep those pictures coming!

***5/11/07 New photographs have been added to the Trax / O'Connell Gallery. You may now view the photos for many of our O'Connell ancestors on the site. I have obtained the only known photos (at least to me) of William and Bridget Manning-O'Connell of Ireland. I would like to thank Karen Edwin for submitting all of these wonderful photos! What a great contribution to our site!

***6/16/06 New photographs have been added to the virtual cemetery. You may now view the markers for Glen and Phyllis Trax-Adkisson and for Wm. F.A. Trax on the site. Just to be clear (since there are so many William Trax's) this is the marker for Wm. F.A. Trax, son of Hugh and Bridget O'Connell Trax. I really appreciate every one of you who have sent in photos. Our collection is slowly but surely growing! Remember if there is anything at all that you think would be an appropriate addition for our site I would love to have it. Let's keep sharing!

***6/09/06 Two new pictures have been added to the Adkisson Gallery. They are of Andrew Jackson "Jack" and Clara Ellen Nickerson-Adkisson family and one of Elijah "Bud" Adkisson as a young man. These were contributed by (living) Adkisson and are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

***5/28/06 I have finally regained access to the site after having some technical difficulties. Please visit the virtual cemetery to view the new photos sent in by (living) Bell. Thank you again!!

***10/27/05 A very big thank you to (living) Bell sisters! What a wonderful gift they have contributed! Please be sure to see all the new Trax family photos in the Gallery section. They are such a wonderful contribution to the site. I can't say thank you enough!!

***10/11/05 Several pages have been updated with the information generously contributed by (living) Bell. There are several new obituaries, memorial cards and added dates for Trax and O'Connell ancestors.
I decided to reconsider the Recipe section since I have not received any submissions. I would still love to add it later if anyone would like to make a contribution. In it's place, I have added "News Clips". Here you will find transcriptions of newspaper articles and sometimes accompanying photographs of our ancestors. Please submit your articles to me and I will be glad to include them on this page.

*** Please continue to send submissions so our family website can flourish. I am missing many dates for the both the Adkisson and Trax lines. If you have the information please send it along with your source be it family papers, Bible records etcetera. In addition, pictures, stories, letters and the like are always welcome!

I hope you enjoy reading and learning about the wonderful heritage of our families!
