Violet Louise Cummings is the daughter of George Harvey Cummings and Inez May Morriss. Known as Ruth after she was adopted by the Roagers family, she was born 26 May 1910 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. She died 26 Jul 1988 at age 78 in Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida.

On 6 Nov 1929, she married Kingston Hagelstein. He was born 26 Apr 1906 in Staten Island, New York. He died in May 1980 at age 74 in Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida.

Violet: After the death of her mother, Violet's father kept his three daughters together, with the help of relatives for about six months. But when he told Minnie and James Roagers, whom he was doing landscaping for, of his trouble, they took the three girls to care for. After a few weeks, George brought his friends, the Ross's and Forbes to take Bertha to the Ross's and Stella to the Forbes to raise. The Roagers kept the baby Violet, adopting her, and changing her name to Ruth Louise.
