This Book Consists of the history of four Long Island families. The book was ordinally published in 1953 with a limited distribution to family members. My father Norman J. Abrams received a copy of the book, and it has been in my possession since 1967, when my father died. Our family is metioned in the book. For years I have wanted to share this material with other. My problem was to determine who might be interested in the material, and how to distribute it. With the popularity of the Web and the exploding interest of genealogy, I felt this would be the logical place to distribute the material.

The book was written over a 10 years period in the 1950's by Sara and Stanford Davision. It is a work of love and represents a history of some of the pioneer family of Hempstead Township on Long Island, NY. I plan to use all the material from the book in it's original form. My contribution will be organization and presentation in a form for Web based distribution.

I'd like comments from any reader on this material, and if and how the delivery could be improved. My first idea was to use a relation database for fast and easy access. I plan to explore this technique, but this will take time.I very happy that Doris Haskell had the foresight to enter all this into a GEDCOM file which is downloadable from here. This GEDCOM database has all the infomation in the book, and more.

Four Appendix are in the book. They are listed as follows and (will be in the future) accessed with hot links.

1, The Bedell Family

2, The DeMott Family

3, The Name and Family cf Dav(d)son
