Abner Brooks Casey Family
Abner Casey sired a clan of pioneers with beginnings in Virginia that left a trail of descendants thru Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and all the states west to the Pacific Coast. This site is dedicated to those pioneers that were usually on the forefront of the westward migration. Many Casey cousins can trace their linage to Abner Casey, "The Miller" who was in his sixties when he brought his family west into Arkansas and established grist mills on the Mulberry and Buffalo Rivers. His son Levi ventured north into Missouri and established a mill on the White River. We find Caseys married into nearly all of the prominent families of the area.I started a site dedicated to the families of my great grandparent's, the Fowler and Villines of Newton County, Arkansas. As I connected all the kin together, I found that I had as many Caseys in may database as I did Fowlers and Villines. As the number of people in my database neared 20,000 I decided to spin off the Caseys and give them their own site.
The Upper Buffalo River Valley is fairly secluded and it wasn't until after World War II that highways came to the area. The only access was by horse, wagon or logging truck. The prominent families intermarried, grew large and prospered. In addition to the Casey Family were the Whiteley, Clark, Farmer, Edgmon, Keeton, Kilgore, Arbaugh, Arrington and Villines families. I have now moved most of my Newton county, Arkansas Genealogy data here since there are so many connections.
I hope that the folks who have visited my Fowler and Villines site and contributed to the common database will support this site and that the new relations will send their information to be recorded so the future generations can proudly point to their Casey heritage.
Enjoy your stay,
Don Fowler
