Boy, a lot has happened in the last six weeks! First off, I've located a .pdf copy of Cleveland Abbe's Genealogy book! A.K.A The Holy Grail of Abbe Genealogy research material!! It's over 42 megabytes, so I can't upload it here, but I am slowly but surely transferring the names out of it into my file, then uploading it here. I just finished t he first 2,000 name addition today and uploaded it. I'm also updating the big genealogy file to 72,200 people. Secondly, my mother has helped our family break through one of the genealogical mysteries that has stumped people in my family for over a century. The "Morrow" family progenitor came from Ireland in 1840, but nothing is known from his family. She sponsored my uncle to take a "Y Chromosome" test to see if we are relaited to any other Morrows. It turns out, we are! That info is in the documents section.
I added a search function to the page, and have put a few more videos in the videos section. These are all home movies mostly shot by myself or my father, but a few are much older 8mm and 16mm home movie footage, some of it as old as 60 years.
I've done another minor update to the big database, and have updated the Abbe / Abbey database. I've started to put some of my family videos up on Youtube, including some of my grandmother's 16mm footage from the 1940's. My youtube page is at: this link.
The big database has been updated overnight with the new death certificates that are available on Familysearch's new records search beta. If you live in one of the states that these records are available, they are an excellent no cost way of increasing your genealogical information. I have to go and change the tire on my car, so I can't update the other database right now, I'll try to do that tonight.
I had to downgrade my internet connection for a few months, so uploading was impossible, but I'm back now with DSL, and I'll be updating the big family tree and the Abbe line in the next few days.
I'm doing a bit of an update on the big file, and I'd like to say hi to one of my co-workers who I discovered to be my long-lost 3rd cousin, 1 time removed (Hi Vicki!)
Well, it's been a little while again. Things have been kind of hairy at work, I work in the Auto Industry, and the word for the day has been layoff. I'm OK so far, but in all reality, unless this turns around, no one will be safe soon. I did parts 6 and 7 of "Genealogy-on-the-Cheap back in January, I just never linked them to the site. Now they are linked. I'm on second shift for the time being, so I'll have a little more research time at night when the kids are asleep.
I put up two more episodes of "Genealogy-on-the-Cheap" yesterday and today. I am back at work, now, so it will be more difficult to put up more videos, so there will maybe be one or two a week.
Well, I got some inspiration and completely re-did the website with a nice, new photo loaded, menu oriented, nice an easy to navigate format. The links page is up, along with the documents page. Both the Abbe / Abbey and my huge 70,000 person plus main file have been updated. I hand entered my 70,000th individual at about 2am yesterday morning. YAAAY, milestones! I'm going to try to link in a few more videos from youtube, and maybe do the 4th of the "Genealogy-on-the-Cheap" series today. I get to go back to work tomorrow! Shutdown is a nice break, but I need to get back into the office!
Well, it's been over a year since I've updated, and a lot has happened. First off, my wonderful grandfather, Kenneth Morrow passed away on March 3, 2008. I missed being able to say goodbye to him by only about five minutes. He passed away at the Ohio Veteran's Home in Sandusky on a rainy afternoon with my aunt by his side.

Being in charge of the Morrow Reunion for the first time in over 90 years without one of the "Seven Morrow Brothers" was a difficult time at the least. Combining that with being promoted at work only a few weeks before that, and averaging 50-60 hours per week brought it down to the wire, but it went really well. I did get the chance to scan all of the reunion records back to 1921 and put them up on the internet. Here is a scan of part of the 1924 record. They entire collection of records are Here. I also put up some various reunion photos, some new, some very old. They are Here.
I also did some youtube videos on genealogy, primarily the Ward, Bowman, and Bemiller lines. Now that I have some time to work, you will be seeing them increase in number. The video page is here. I also plan to begin a series of "how-to" videos detailing how I do my research, and what tools and resources I like to use. I think I'll call it "Genealogy-on-the-Cheap". I have never paid for any of the information I have, and most of it is available for free if you know where to go. Keep checking back for that. The Abbe / Abbey Genealogy has also been updated and is up to over 7,000 descendants.
