Paddington was in the Broad Arrow Goldfield. 27km north of
Kalgoorlie along the main road to Menzies Paddington or the Sore Foot area - the first big
rush was in Sept l892 Apparently at the end of the first day of the "rush",
tired limping diggers named it "Sore Foot Rush" but it was later changed
to Paddington.

Paddington was discovered in about 1894 and the town was at its height in
1900 & 1901 The Pakeha, Mt Corlis and Star of WA were some of Paddingtons
prosperous mines and the Paddinton Consols was a big mine employing between 400 to 500 men
at the peak of its operations
