Editorial note: This article might appear to be uninteresting. However, newpapers all over Ireland were publishing glowing reports of crops raised during the spring and early summer seasons. Given the dire outcome of the potato crop later in 1845, this article --and so many others like it-- provide an ironic note. ++++++++++++++ THE CROPS. of the
North in the memory of the oldest inhabitant. Wheat, barley, oats, and
flax, are all good crop, and potatoes are better in appearance than
at any former period. |
