Served in numerous campaigns and militia's settled in Jamestown.

King George's War 1746

1. Jacob Bortner
      
Served in the Pennsylvania Colonial Militia under the command of British Regulars and enlisted on July 14, 1746 and served during the invasion into French Canada.

1. John Peter Hoffman
      
Served some time in the Provincial Forces of Pennsylvania.


American Service

Revolutionary War

1. Peter Trautman
      
Served in the war under Capt. Weavers Comapny and started on April 5, 1779.  He belonged to the 5th and 6th class of Northumderland Co. Pennsylvania.  Was part of the 3rd Battalion commanded by Colonel Hosterman.  He served for a period of 1 month 5 days.

2, Christian Hoffman
      
Served for a short time in the Pennsylvania Militia.

3, Albright Deibler
      
Saw service in the Battle of Long Island and was either killed in battle or taken prisoner and died on a prison ship in the New York Harbor.  Served as a Captian.

4. Henry (Heinrich) Sagle
      
He was a private in the Prince Successor Regiment whuch was later named the Prince Friedrick Regiment in 1783.  He was entered into the books in May of 1783.  He was a prisoner during the Revolution and then deserted. 

5. Jacob Gunkel
      
Served in the Capt. Meily's company in the beginning of 1787 from Dauphin Co PA.


Mexican War



War of 1812

1. John Jacob Swab
      
Served in the war under Capt Jacob Dietrich's Company.  Part of the 1st Infantry of the 2nd Regiment of the Pennsylvania Mililtia.  He served for a period of 3 months.  From October 5, 1814 to December 5, 1814.


Civil War

1. Solomon Leitzel
      
Served in the Civil War under Captain John Jameson of Company B of the 7th Pennsylvania Regiment of the 36th PA infantry.  He served for a period of not quite a year.  He was enlisted in July 18th of 1861 and was Medically Discharged in May 14th of 1862.  He was released in the Camp near the Town of Falmouth in the VA Peninsula Campaign. 

2. Joseph Ritner Hoffman
    Served in the Civil War under Colonial M'Calmont of the 208th Pennsylvania Regiment.  He served from August 30, 1864 until he was Mustered out at Alexandria Virginia in June 1, 1865.  He served in Company A.

3. Jacob Bordner
      
Served in the Civil War under Captain Edward G Savage of Company F of the 10th Pennsylvania Regiment.  Washington Rifles.  He served from 26 April 1861 to 31 July 1861.  This was a 90 day service.  He was recruited from Lykens, Dauphin Co PA.  "He also served with the 93rd Penn Volunteer Infantry, and was wounded in action with that unit near Salem Church, VA on 3 May 1863.  He was listed as AWOL shortly after.  I speculate that he was forced back into sevice in December 1863 with I Company, 147th Penn Vol Infantry, and deserted in May of 1864."  Source: Tom Bordner. 

4. Elias Troutman
      
Served in the Civil War under Colonial Benjamin C Christ of Company A of the 50th Pennsylvania Regiment.  Ellsworth's Zoauves.  He served from February 27 1864 and was mustered out of service on May 12 1865.  He took part in the Battle of The Wilderness, Ny River (Spottsylvania Courthouse), The Battle of North Anna, The Battle of Cold Harbor, The Battle the Crater in Petersburg Siege,  and the Capture of Fort Steadman and the Fall of Petersburg.

5. William Easler
      
Served in the Civil War in the 7th South Carolina Reserves 90 Days.  He enlisted in Columbia SC in November 20 1862 and served until February 17 1863.  I don't have much else on this unit.

6. George Chesney
   
   Served in the Civil War in the 9th South Carolina Reserves 90 Days.  He enlisted in Spartanburg District SC on November 18 1862.  And served until his death in February 14 1863.  No other information as of yet.

1. John Henry Geyer
     
Served in the US Navy from 8/14/1920 to 2/10/1921.

The Second World War


1. Donald Henry Geyer
      
Served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations from a period of 2 years and 2 months.  He served in the 70th AAA Gun Battalion.  He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Caledonia region of the Pacific.  He trained at Fort Moultre in South Carolina.  He enlisted on 7 June of 1940.  He was then transferred to Fort Stewart Georgia.  On 23 January of 1942 He departed from the US to Caledonia.  On 23 December of 1944 He was the sent back to Fort Bliss Texas where he remained until his enlistment was complete.  He was honorably discharged from service in 23 July of 1945.

2. Howard Arther Sagle
      
Served in the European Theatre of Operations.  He served in the 87th Division known as the Acorn Division as a Tech/5 in company E of the 345th Infantry Regiment.  More to follow.

3. Hugh David Chapman
      
Served in the European Theatre of Operations.  Served in the AAF Army Air Force and was stationed in England.  Was a Lt. and flew a P-51 Mustang that supported the B-52 bombers as they flew over Germany.

4. Robert Geyer
      
Served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.  Served in the 503 Parachute Infantry Co C. Killed in Fire Fight on Noemfoor on August 12, 1944.

The Korean War


1. Hugh David Chapman
       
Served in the Korean War flying the P-80 (Shooting Star) Stationed in Japan.  No info on what missions he flew!

The Viet nam Conflict

1. Jay Franklin Geyer
    
Served in US Army Selective Service, Jay served in Vietnam in the Binh Dinh Province where on April 8, 1967 he was killed after recieving small arms fire and was awarded the Purple Heart for his fatal wounds.   He was a Specialist E-4 and was an Infantryman (11B).

2. Hugh David Chapman
    Served in Viet nam during the war sometime in the 1962-63 time frame.  Helped to train the South Vietnamese  (VNAF)  to fly the F-5 A/B/C Freedom flighter.

Pursian Gulf War


Other Military Actions that recieved Combat or Expediatary Medals.

1. Daniel J Geyer
I served in the NATO action of the Bosnia/Herzegovena Peace Keeping Force.  Served from 4 September of 1998 to 12 March of 1999.  Served in the Tuzla Valley Region of Bosnia in Camp Comanche.  Served in A company of the 615th Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Battalion of the 1st Cavalry Division of Fort hood TX.  Served under Major Stanley O. Smith.    Served on 11 January of 1996 in Basic Training in Fort Jackson SC, and completed training in Fort Eustis VA in 12 July 1996.  Was assigned to Troop F of the 1-104 Cavalry stationed on Fort Indiantown Gap of the 28th Division.  Was transferred to Active duty on 24 September of 1997.

Men Not found on military Status but could have served
1. Benner, James William
    Lived in Jefferson Co VA/WV during the time of the Civil War.  Become of age to serve in 1862.  Lived only a few miles from Harpers Ferry in the Town of Middleway.

2. Sagle, Samuel Randolph
     Lived in Loudoun Co VA during the Time of the Civil War, a hot bed for the Mosby's Rangers.  Was of age to serve at the onset of the war.  Lived in Morrisonville in 1860 Census.

3. Chapman, Jacob Lemuel
     Lived in Saluda Newberry Co SC during the Civil War.  Family tradition says that Jacob's wife buried the silverware when Sherman marched through the area.  No mention of Jacobs service.
