Is anyone looking for any of the
above surnames? Family members located to this area as early as 1859-1860.
Michael BURKE was married to Ellen BRADY; Maria "Ellen" BURKE was married
to Michael SHEERAN. Several family members are buried in Calvary Cemetery.
Others of the same period and surname are also located in this cemetery. Just wondering if there are any connections.

City of Faribault
STAR BOTTLING WORKS - This
establishment was started in 1872 by Sheeran & Misgen, on Fourth street between
Elm and Chestnut. At first Soda Water was principally made. In 1875, the
concern was moved to Tenth Street and the business enlarged, and the
manufacture of Seltzer Water, cider, and pop was added. The firm subsequently
became Sheeran & Filler. In 1877, they began to
put up Beer from the brewery of G. Fleckstein, and

Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Gower of
Lansing, Mich., are the guests of the former's brother A. C. Gower at the
latter's farm in Lafayette. They will go west to visit relatives in different
cities before returning to their Michigan home. In that state, Mr. Gower is a
widely known educator, and one greatly interested in public questions. He is
free to state that he sees no good whatever in the so-called primary election
laws, adding that it encourages a scramble for office, a securing of weak men
and necessarily entails great expense in those running, while the people are
not so well represented.
